The Carmelite pillars of prayer, service and community are key to this activity.

Cherith - Monthly Get-togethers for Young Adults: Beginning February 2012

A space for young people (18-35 years) to meet others who are exploring their own relationship with God and the world around them through the lens of Carmelite spirituality. Carmelites take their inspiration from Elijah and it was in the Cherith that Elijah was fed and nourished by God (see 1 Kings 17). Together we will explore different forms of prayer, discuss different issues of faith, and have a bit of craic while we’re at it!

The first group of Carmelites on Mount Carmel over 800 years ago took Mary as their patroness, promising her faithful service and expecting her protection and favour. This annual pilgrimage to our national Marian Shrine is a chance to give thanks to Mary for her constant love and care for us.
